Since the launch of the fourth campaign, new Dungeon Master Brennan Lee Mulligan has kept viewers on edge with deep backstory, a diverse cast of heroes, and a gripping narrative showcasing divine entities, evil spirits, and dark forces growing in influence within Dol-Makjar.
Warning: Revealing details for the third episode of this adventure are included.
The Soldiers Table Unveiled
Episode 3 concluded with a major cliffhanger and revealed the first table of heroes who will separate from the central cast to undertake their own adventure, apart from the additional parties.
This warrior group includes Teor Pridesire (portrayed by Travis Willingham), the nimble rogue (Laura), the fierce warrior (the cast member), the cleric (the player), and Kattigan Vale (Robbie Daymond).
The Reason for Division
Considering a large ensemble, it was obvious from the start that keeping everyone at a single group would be impossible.
Hence, the opening chapters of Campaign 4 serve as an Prelude, connecting the personal journeys before branching into three distinct groups: Fighters, Schemers, and Seekers.
Characteristics of the Soldiers Table
As described by the DM, the warrior group is for participants who enjoy a traditionally charged combat and conflict-driven gameplay experience where diplomatic options are rare.
Upon first impression, figures such as the reluctant priest Wicander might look mismatched, but the events of episode 3 show why these specific adventurers are perfectly fit for the Soldiers table.
Reasons to Leave
First, the group has a clear idea where to go next after a brutal first encounter with the enemy group.
A former ally of Thjazi—whose passing initiated the story’s plot—used The Crow Keepers for his own means, invading the secret base, attacking the rogue, and taking all the powerful objects to dispose of.
Casimir then cleared his obligations and fled to a fortified location in Gormalay, Timmony, above Dol-Makjar, with Teor’s brother hot on his heels.
Personal Motivations
Additionally, each member has a specific drive to leave the city Dol-Makjar:
- The rogue, as the companion and closest confidant, desires revenge.
- The adventurer knows the northern area and warns that it is a nasty place.
- The warrior and Wicander, having disobeyed his relatives’ demands to execute Teor and instead rescued him, have no other options.
- Yet, their reputation as key figures in the influential clan could assist the group access locations they usually can’t.
- Furthermore, The grateful character pledged a life debt to The savior for his salvation and will now accompany him anywhere.
Fugitives
Lastly, all of them are wanted by the powers that govern Dol-Makjar for a variety of reasons, making lingering locally too risky:
- The rogue and The character are notorious outlaws.
- The strong figure and The cleric betrayed the powerful family and the horde of evil beings they are allied with.
- Teor is targeted for elimination by the clan.
This results in them no alternative but to journey toward the remote area in search of Casimir.
